Vegetarian Spaghetti Recipe

Vegetarian Spaghetti Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 c dried tvp(textured vegetable protein) optional, but a good source of protein.
  • 3- 12oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 1- 12oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 tbs chopped garlic (fresh or jarred)
  • 2 tbs leaf oregano
  • 2 tbs leaf basil
  • 1/2 tbs rosemary (crushed)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 ribs celery, diced small
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 3 tbs shredded parmesan
  • 10 whole bay leaves(to be removed when sauce is done)
  • 1/2 c mushrooms pieces

Sauce Directions

On the Stove

In Large sauce kettle combine ingredients and stir well. On low, heat sauce slowly, as not to burn, and stir frequently.

In the Oven

In Large Baking Dish, combine ingredients and stir well. Place covered in oven at 325℉ for two 1/2 hours, stirring every hour.

In a Crockpot:

Place all ingredients in crock pot, stir well, cover, and set on fast heat for 45 minutes then to low heat for several hours or until the internal temp. is over 165℉ Stir periodically.

Serve over any pasta, and makes Lasagna Delicious!
